This is a valid question, and the answer, fortunately, is yes. Now look, I ain't gonna pretend it'll be easy. Let's face it, the world we woke up to on 9/11/2001 was gone forever before we had lunch. Still, the world can be a Phoenix rising from the ashes. It's all up to us. Look at what we've done since the attacks. How many of y'all have given blood for the first time? Given to a charity? Found new respect for cops and firemen? Looked around with appreciation at all the great stuff we've always taken for granted? I think we've all come back around to the realization that, corny as it may sound, we're all in this together. In fact, it's probably the exact OPPOSITE reaction that Bin Laden and his nimrods expected. We're all working as a team, looking to give rather than take, helpin' each other out, keepin' it real. And, of course, keepin' it real is the foundation of ROCK!!! So, while the military is kickin' Bin's ass in the usual way, we can save the world by following the basic tenet of ROCK, which is keepin' it real. Take a look around ya...there might be someone who needs a hand you can provide. Don't think of "What's in it for me" as much as "what's the right thing to do?" Sure there's always gonna be some NON-ROCK dickheads who are gonna look to profit from others' misfortune, or look to further their own agenda (see: Falwell, J.), but don't let their actions dictate yours!!! Besides, if you're cool with people, people just might be cool with you. And what can be more ROCK than that????? DIG IT!!! |
